05 - Whisk together sour cream, lime zest, lime juice, and salt until smooth. Set aside.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The lime crema is addictive—that balance of tangy and cool feels like a little moment of comfort on every bite.
  • It comes together in under 40 minutes, which means you can actually get dinner on the table without losing your mind.
  • Each tostada is a blank canvas where you control how much heat, how much crunch, and how much avocado makes you happy.
02 -
  • Don't skip the five-minute rest after roasting the chicken—it makes all the difference between dry and juicy, and those five minutes are non-negotiable.
  • Assemble right before eating because tostadas soften the second salsa hits them, which is actually fine, but it's a different experience than fresh and crispy.
03 -
  • Keep the jalapeño seeds if you like real heat, or remove them if you want the flavor without the fire—there's no judgment here.
  • Greek yogurt works beautifully instead of sour cream if you want fewer calories but the same creaminess and tang.
