Flaky pastry spirals packed with mozzarella, pepperoni, marinara. Easy, tasty party starter.

# What You Need:

→ Dough

01 - 1 sheet refrigerated puff pastry, thawed (approx. 9 oz)

→ Fillings

02 - 1/3 cup marinara or pizza sauce
03 - 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
04 - 2.5 oz sliced pepperoni
05 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
06 - 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs

→ Finishing

07 - 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for brushing)

# How To Make:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Roll out puff pastry sheet gently on a lightly floured surface.
03 - Spread marinara sauce evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border on all sides.
04 - Distribute mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Arrange pepperoni slices evenly. Sprinkle Parmesan and dried Italian herbs across the surface.
05 - Start from one long edge and tightly roll the pastry into a log. Pinch the seam to secure.
06 - Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 16 equal rounds. Position pinwheels cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
07 - Brush the tops of each pinwheel with beaten egg for color. Optionally, brush lightly with olive oil.
08 - Bake for 16–18 minutes, until pastry is golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
09 - Allow pinwheels to cool briefly before serving. Serve warm.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • These pinwheels bake up fast, making spontaneous snack cravings easily solved.
  • The combination of flaky puff pastry and melting mozzarella always wins at parties or casual movie nights.
02 -
  • If the pastry gets too warm, it will tear and lose its delicate layers—chill between steps if needed.
  • Rolling too loosely makes the filling spill out; a tight roll holds everything together without losing flavor.
03 -
  • Brushing a touch of olive oil on top just before baking lifts the flavor and increases shine.
  • If you prefer extra crunch, sprinkle a dash of coarse sea salt onto the egg-washed pinwheels right before baking.
