11 - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
12 - 1/4 cup molasses
13 - 2 large eggs
14 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Glaze

15 - 3/4 cup powdered sugar
16 - 1 to 2 tablespoons milk or plant-based alternative
17 - 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

# How To Make:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
02 - Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, ground ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, and black pepper in a medium bowl.
03 - In a large bowl, cream softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
04 - Add molasses, eggs, and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and beat until smooth.
05 - Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
06 - Spread batter evenly in prepared pan and bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan.
07 - Whisk powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon milk (add more if necessary) and cinnamon until smooth.
08 - Drizzle glaze over cooled bars, cut into 16 squares, and serve.
