Ingredients
- Waffle Batter: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tbsp granulated sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt, 1½ cups whole milk, 2 large eggs, ⅓ cup unsalted butter melted, 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Cinnamon Sugar Coating: ½ cup granulated sugar, 2 tsp ground cinnamon, 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted (for brushing)
Instructions
- Step 1:
- Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturers instructions.
- Step 2:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 2 tbsp sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 3:
- In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Step 4:
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined do not overmix.
- Step 5:
- Lightly grease the waffle iron. Pour batter onto the iron and cook until golden and crisp about 3–5 minutes per waffle.
- Step 6:
- While waffles are hot brush both sides generously with melted butter.
- Step 7:
- In a shallow dish combine ½ cup sugar and cinnamon. Dredge each waffle in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
- Step 8:
- Serve immediately optionally with chocolate sauce or whipped cream.
